Životopis

Johann Georg Christian Lehmann se narodil v Haselau 25. února 1792 [5] .

Lehmann studoval medicínu v Göttingenu a Kodani [5] . V roce 1813 získal hodnost doktora medicíny ao rok později hodnost doktora filozofie na Univerzitě Friedricha Schillera v Jeně [5] .

V roce 1817 vydal Johann Georg Christian Lehmann Monographia generis Primularum , dílo, které ho proslavilo [2] . V roce 1818 vydal Plantae e familiae Asperifoliarum nuciferae descripsit Joannes Georgius Christianus Lehmann , v roce 1820 Monographia generis Potentillarum a v roce 1821 Icones et descriptiones novarum et minus cognitarum stirpium [2] [6] .

Vědecké úspěchy Lehmana nezůstaly bez uznání [5] . Byl členem 26 vědeckých společností [5] , včetně zahraničního dopisujícího člena Petrohradské akademie věd (1822). Leman významně přispěl k botanice, popsal mnoho rostlinných druhů [ 7] .

Johann Georg Christian Lehmann zemřel v Hamburku 12. února 1860 [5] .
