Ptomaphaginus  (lat.)  je rod brouků z podčeledi Cholevinae z čeledi Leiodida .

Distribuce

Vyskytují se především v jihovýchodní Asii [1] [2] .

Popis

Malí brouci (délka od 2 do 10 mm) hnědí. Tvar těla je oválný, se zaoblenými vrcholy elytry. Mužské přední končetiny se čtyřmi rozšířenými protarsomery, které se od Ptomaphaminus odlišují ventrálními trny přední holenní kosti (protibia), které jsou zarovnány podél laterálně-vnější řady stejných trnů a tvoří druhou, více rozmístěnou řadu vedle vnější, a metaventrálními stehy, které jsou přibližně rovnoběžné s tělem osy. Kromě toho jsou gonocoxity u samic prodloužené, zatímco u většiny Ptomaphaminus jsou redukované . Stejně jako u jiných Ptomaphagini jsou mezokoxální prohlubně odděleny mesoventrálním výběžkem a je vyvinut epistomální steh [1] [2] [3] . Většina druhů žije v jeskyních nebo v půdě, oči jsou rudimentární nebo chybí [4] .

Systematika

Asi 100 druhů. Rod byl izolován v roce 1914 francouzským entomologem Gastonem Portevinem ( 1869-1946 ). Zařazeno do kmene Ptomaphagini (podčeleď Cholevinae , podkmen Ptomaphaginina), blízké rodům Pandania , Proptomaphaginus a Ptomaphaminus [1] [2] . V roce 2008 byl v jihovýchodní Asii nalezen nový druh [5] . V roce 2017 byly 2 druhy nalezeny v Japonsku [6] a v roce 2015 12 nových druhů v Číně [1] . Fosilní druh † Ptomaphagus germari von Schlechtendal 1888 byl nalezen v baltském jantaru ( Rusko ) [7] [8] .
